Happy Sabbath # 7

I got this in an e-mail this week. Thought it is a great thought for the weekend. Happy Sabbath.

You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind, But GOD kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3)

There were times when I thought I could go on no longer, but the LORD kept me moving. (Gen 28:15)


At times, I've wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me
Wrong, but the LORD kept my mouth shut. (Psa. 13)

Sometimes, I think the money just isn't enough, but GOD has helped me to keep the lights on, the water on, the car paid, the house paid,
Etc.., (Matt. 6:25-34)

When I thought I would fall, HE kept me up. When I thought I was weak, HE kept me strong! (I Pet. 5:7, Matt. 11:28-30)

I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him
I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust! HE  kept me  safe

It is nearly time for mid-year exams.
With exams threatening to steal our thunder, it is often easy to forget about others and dwell on how much WE need to do and how stressed WE are. But that isn't the way Christ intended for it to be. He has always put emphasis on putting others first, and with that thought I'd like to present 10 ways to show someone you care (even when you're feeling like you really are more of a priority than your neighbour)...

How can you show love more often

Through compassionate deeds
By forgiving others
Through caring confrontation
By being loyal
With humor
In celebrations
By being creative
By honoring others
By really listening and trying not to dominate conversations
By teaching others to care

Take this challenge: Do one of these for the next ten days and really take interest in others.

Do not loose your vision

…give yourself permission to go a different way

The Pilgrims landed on the shores of America full of vision. The first year they established a town. The next year they elected a council. In their third year the town council proposed building a road five miles out into the wilderness for westward expansion. But the people criticised it as a waste of public funds. Amazing! Once they had been able to see across oceans to new worlds, now they could not see five miles down the road. What happened? They lost their vision! How can you keep that from happening to you?

1) Refuse to become self-centered! God wants you to enjoy success, but anytime the profit margin becomes more important than the service principle, you will forfeit God’s blessing.

2) Do not get lost in the mundane! One successful leader writes, ‘In preparation for the day, I focus on the main event and ask, ‘In order to make the main event a good event, what must I know? Do? Eliminate?’ Some things will be fun, some will not, but with preparation the most important things will get done well.’

3) Refuse to go with the flow! Most of us are married to the status quo. We want what is, not what can be. We seek safety and simple answers. To keep your vision alive you must give yourself permission to go a different way; to break new ground. The moment your eyes open each morning remind yourself, ‘There is more out there than what I’ve experienced,’ then commit your day to God and get moving!

Dimensions fo God

"When my roommate who is pursuing his PhD in Mathematics posed the question, my first reaction was, “You sure you want to talk math with a student who barely passed it in high school?” Further discussions led me not to become a scientific thinker, but at least to realize in my own special way just who God might be.

Just hang on as I explain a bit of Physics 101…what is a Dimension? Google says, “Dimension (n) a measure of spatial extent, especially width, height, or length”. Dimensions are derived in some point in time.

Alright, that being said, any non scientific person would know 3 different types of dimensions. We humans are 3D (dimensional), a painting on a canvas or your wall is a 2D object and a line or a piece of string is 1-dimensional. Consider this - when you have the shadow of a 3D object we have a 2 dimensional shadow, when we have the shadow of a 2D object a painting we have a 1 dimensional shadow which is a line, and when you see the shadow of a line it is a dot, which is what we call zero dimensional.

Having said all this, the question arises how many dimensions is God. I call the fourth dimension, God’s dimension. Scientists consider the fourth D to be something like a hypercube.

Man’s Quest for God and His exact likeness will end only when He comes back. Our understanding of God’s dimension is unattainable now. If we know that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image*, a shadow-likeness, then God has to be the fourth dimension.

Then why can’t we understand God fully? I don’t know how many of you have seen the movie Flatland, but I’ll set up the scenario. Let’s pretend humans are all 2 dimensional. Then our visions would be flat. Our ability to understand a third dimension would be out of bounds because we might never have ever seen and understood what it means to be 3D. Maybe there in lies our answer.
